Program and Enrollment

Our Philosophy

Children at Oak Lane are nurtured in a manner consistent with the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship (SPICES). We incorporate these testimonies in everything we do. Our focus is on the whole child and we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which children can learn through structured play. We establish developmentally appropriate goals for every age group, which are encouraged through hands-on activities with various materials, small group interactions and outdoor play. Low student to teacher ratios allow the teacher to adjust daily activities to the class as well as to the individual child. Children are exposed to numbers, letters and other concepts through play and experimentation. One of our goals is to unleash their curiosity for the world around them and nurture their imagination.

Family involvement is an integral part of Oak Lane’s success along with its growth and development.

Parents are always welcome in the classrooms and often help out with other tasks such as a spring cleaning and organizing fundraising events. Oak Lane’s vision is to go beyond providing a service and create a community that includes the entire family. Throughout the year we host dinners in which the entire family is invited. We believe that when the whole family is involved, the children are more likely to feel that the day care is a safe place for them.

Oak Lane is open from 7 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday from September through June.  Our hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM in July and August.

We offer several  options such as full days and half days. Tuition is based on your child’s schedule.  There is a 10% discount for siblings, applied to the oldest child. We also offer “drop-in” care for enrolled families on a space available basis.

Full Day Care  – 7:00 am – 6:00 pm

Morning Half Day – 7:00 am – 1:00 pm

Depending on age and developmental level, children are placed in one of four classrooms at the day care:

Infant and Young Toddler (Butterflies) – Six weeks through about twenty-four months.

Older Toddlers (Bear Cubs) – About twenty-four to thirty-six months.

Preschool 3’s (Chipmunks) – About thirty-six to forty-eight months. Chipmunks are expected to be toilet trained, or nearly so, for entrance into this program.

Preschool 4’s  (Owls) – Forty-eight months and up

How to enroll your child:

Schedule a visit to see our program in action. Please contact us at 610-399-7575 or to make an appointment. The best times for visits are Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 11:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

If we cannot offer you a space right away or you’re looking for a future enrollment date, your child can be placed on our waiting list until a space becomes available.

Oak Lane Day Care enrolls children year-round. However, most children start  September first with the beginning of a new school year. Enrollment is usually contracted from September through June with more flexibility during July and August.
